We are very excited to announce the re-release of Andy Aledort and the Groove Kings' brilliant 1999 album Put A Sock In It.

It sounds as fresh and exciting now as it did 20 years ago. That’s an impressive feat, but it won’t be a surprise to anyone familiar with Aledort, a musician’s musician and guitarist extraordinaire, who has taught millions to play with his instructional writing and DVDs; toured the world with Dickey Betts’ Great Southern; done the impossible by filling in for Jimi Hendrix with Buddy Miles and Billy Cox in the Band of Gypsys; and lit up stages with many others, from Buddy Guy to Double Trouble.

Put A Sock In It is Aledort’s only solo studio record, self-released to critical acclaim, then gaining renown as a cult classic over the years. It is timeless music that needs to be heard and appreciated by anyone who loves creative blues rock guitar playing, moody, impassioned vocals and inventive songwriting. The latter is key; even the hottest licks cool off quickly if they’re not resting on a solid frame. Aledort is that rarest of birds: a smoking guitarist who can craft hooky tunes that are just as memorable.
